The Challenge: Economic hardship leaves many vulnerable families on Rusinga Island struggling to meet their most basic nutritional needs, with a significant portion of the population living on less than $1.00 a day. Severe food insecurity directly impacts health, strains families, and leaves children vulnerable to malnutrition.
Our Impact: Rusinga CBO steps into the gap to provide immediate relief and hope to households in crisis. Through our targeted humanitarian relief campaigns, we have distributed more than 300 bags of corn directly to the families most in need across the community. This essential food aid serves as a critical buffer against extreme poverty, bringing immediate stability, nutritional support, and relief to thousands of community members.
